Fall Give-Back
Hearts of Empowerment worked alongside Canadian Football League player, Dante Absher, for the Fall Give-Back Campaign. Dante is a part of the Hearts of Empowerment family and approached us with a unique opportunity to serve those in need.
During his 2019 Football Season in Montreal, Canada, Dante’s daily commute included walking past a homeless man through an underground metro. Dante felt compelled to assist the homeless man and started giving him spare change here and there. As time went by Dante thought to do more for him, and started bringing him leftover lunches after team practice.
This became a daily routine which led to Chris waiting for Dante to bring him his daily lunch and conversation between the two gentlemen. This led to Chris telling Dante how brutal winters are when you don’t have any blankets, coats, pants, gloves and hats.
Stories like these are what inspire our organization to go above and beyond for those less fortunate than us. This story has inspired Dante to work alongside Hearts of Empowerment and bring you our Fall Giveback Campaign. For the next month we will be collecting donations and supplies in order to provide homeless men and women the resources needed in order to help them through this upcoming winter. We hope for you to join our efforts in order to assist those less fortunate than us!
