Laptops for Virtual Learning!

With the help of the Leesburg Cares Act Grant, Hearts of Empowerment was able to donate 30 new laptops to Youth for Tomorrow and Excellent Options, 2 children-focused organizations.

Since the start of September 2020, many curriculums have been shifted to virtual learning programs as an adjustment to COVID-19. With virtual learning increasing in popularity, the laptops are an attempt to strengthen engagement and encourage growth among the youth.

For many in leadership positions today, the same core values that are taught to the youth remain deeply embedded, as they experience the many stages of life. Correy Faciane, Founder and CEO of Hearts of Empowerment was a part of Club 2012, now known as Excellent Options. The group was geared toward the development of young and successful black youth in the Leesburg area. This particular group was started by Briar Woods High School (Ashburn, VA) parents around the time Correy Faciane and his fellow classmates began middle school.

Correy believes this campaign is critical since he was once a member of Club 2012 (now known as Excellent Options). As he recounts, access to appropriate learning opportunities through programs of this nature allowed him to close the achievement gap, gain necessary work habits for higher education, and access to successful role models within the community.

We are proud to provide these resources to organizations close to our hearts!
